BOONVILLE, Ind. - The Omaha women's golf team ran into cold temperatures and stiff winds in the first round of the Braun Intercollegiate at Evansville on Monday.

The Mavericks shot a team score of 345 after the first 18 holes, placing them last in the field of 11 teams. Southern Illinois leads with a score of 308 followed by Indiana State and Northern Iowa in a tie for second at 314.

Elizabeth Havekost led UNO with a score of 80 on Monday, putting her in a tie for 18th overall. Katie Kesti was second for the Mavs and in a tie for 46th overall with a score of 87. That put her one stroke ahead of teammate Brooke Thilges whose score of 88 had her in a tie for 51st.

Britany Seda carded a round of 90 and is in a tie for 61st while Sophie Peters shot 94 to complete the scoring for the Mavs.

The final round of the tournament and the fall season for the Mavericks is Tuesday at 11 a.m. The start time has been pushed back an hour to allow for cold temperatures at the Quail Crossing Golf Club.
