EDWARDSVILLE , Ill. -- The UNO women's tennis team saw its four-match win streak snapped Thursday, falling to SIU-Edwardsville 5-2 in the Mavericks' season finale.
Freshman Alex Tran led the way for UNO, recording wins in both singles and doubles. In singles action, she defeated Carlie Connors 6-0, 6-0 before teaming up with fellow freshman Rachel Pierson for an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Junior Lindsay Weideman battled hard in the No. 3 spot, dropping the first set 4-6. She rallied to win the second set in a tie-breaker 7-6 (7-4), but lost the third set in a tie breaker 7-6 (7-3).
In the No. 6 position, senior Heather Hottman tallied a win over Amanda Miller with a score of 8-4, posting the Mavs' final win of the afternoon.
Nebraska Omaha finishes its first season of Division I play with a record of 7-13.
