Mavs Add Goalkeeper to 2012 Signing Class

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO women's soccer program has signed goalkeeper Meaghan Clark to a National Letter of Intent to join the Mavericks this fall.
Clark joins seven other Mavs who signed earlier this year. The Boise, Idaho product led Rocky Mountain High School to the 5A state championship in her senior season in 2011-12. Her signing fills a big need, as the Mavericks had just one goalie, Sarah Warren, on the roster this spring. Last year's starting goalkeeper, Katelyn Tschida, decided to hang up the cleats after her sophomore season.
The 5-6 Clark was a four-year goalie for Rocky Mountain, coached by Donal Kaehler. She led the Grizzlies to the state championship with a 17-2-1 record this past year, and she was selected to compete in the 5A SIC All-Star Game following the season. As a junior, Clark was named second-team all-conference after starting every game in goal and helping the Grizzlies to an 11-3-2 record and a state semifinals appearance. She also earned a state runner-up finish as a sophomore and a quarterfinals appearance as a freshman.
Clark amassed a 53-9-9 record in her high school career. She played club soccer for Idaho Rush with a second and third-place finish in the Idaho State Cup. Clark was a member of National Honor Society and the honor roll, and she earned academic all-state honors, the vice principal's Presidential Academic Award and the head athletic trainer's Senior Sports Medicine Award.
