
Mavs Voted Seventh in Summit League Poll

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team has been picked to finish seventh in its first year of Summit League competition, the conference office announced on Friday. The poll was determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
In the women's poll, Kansas City garnered five of seven first-place votes to total 46 points, edging out Fort Wayne's 44 points and two first-place votes. South Dakota (32) finished third and IUPUI (28), which had the remaining first-place vote, was fourth. Oakland (24) edged South Dakota State (23) for sixth with newcomer Omaha (17) and Western Illinois (10) finishing the final two spots.
The Mavericks begin the season Feb. 1, hosting Nebraska Wesleyan at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
