Two Mavs Named to Academic All-League Team

OMAHA, Neb. - Two members of the UNO women's soccer team were selected to the Summit League Academic All-League Team on Wednesday, the conference office announced.
Melanie McCormick and Logen Watts represented the Mavericks. McCormick, a senior biology major with a 4.00 GPA, was a Capital One Academic All-District selection and scored four goals with one assist this season. She was also a member of the Academic All-League Team last year.
Watts, a senior defender with a 3.93 GPA majoring in business administration, anchored the Omaha defensive backline that produced two shutouts this season.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The women's soccer all-league teams are made up of the 11 student-athletes receiving the most votes from the sports information directors and faculty athletics representatives of each school with all ties standing. This year, 12 players comprised the team.
