OMAHA, Neb. – Registration is now open for “Overtime With Bob Hanson,” a one-time golf event on Friday, May 31 that will raise funds for a scholarship to benefit the Omaha men's basketball program. The Bob Hanson Family Maverick Basketball Scholarship Fund annually grants a scholarship to a men's basketball student-athlete majoring within the UNO College of Business.
“Overtime With Bob Hanson” will be held on Friday, May 31 at Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion. Teams of four may register for the 1 p.m. golf scramble for $600 per team. The cost also includes a post-golf reception, which will be held at the Comfort Inn and Suites at 70th and Grover Streets from 6 to 9 p.m.
Hanson served as head coach of the UNO men's basketball program for 25 years, and he is the winningest coach in program history. Through the efforts of Hanson and fellow Maverick supporters, the Bob Hanson Family Maverick Basketball Scholarship fund has raised nearly $10,000 to initially fund the scholarship.
