Mavs Earn Outdoor PRs at Tulsa Duels

In Friday's competition, Sami Spenner finished runner-up in the javelin throw throwing a personal best 126' 3". Amanda Alexander finished fifth with a throw of 111' 5", while Macy Woitzel set a new PR with a throw of 105' 6".
The hammer throw was also completed on Friday night, with Liz Thompson finishing ninth with a throw of 127' 8". Megan Adams also competed in the event, setting a new PR with a throw of 101' 7".
Saturday saw Jessica Ripp finishing seventh in the long jump with a leap of 16' 10", just missing out on a new personal best by one half inch. Nicole Liske just missed out on placing in the triple jump, finishing ninth with a PR leap of 33' 3 1/4".
Karo Garcia finished sixth in the 2,000 meter steeple chase with a time of 7:42.02, setting a new personal record, and Liz Thompson set a new PR,finishing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 43' 1/4".
The Mavs 4x100 meter relay team of Terri Armstrong, Liske, Kathie Lee-Laidley and Spenner took fourth with a time of 49.62. Omaha's 4x400 meter relay team of Jackie Mezick, Lauren Psota, Alyssa Thavenet and Katarina Zarudnaya finished fifth with a time of 4:11.75
The Mavs will have a week off for spring break before returning to action April 4-5 at the Dakota Duals in Yankton, S.D.
