Mavs Face Northern Illinois, New Mexico State

The UNO women's soccer team has a busy weekend ahead, traveling to Northern Illinois on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. before returning home for a Sunday, Sept. 7 matchup with New Mexico State at 11 a.m. Links to live stats for both matches will be accessible on OMavs.com, and live video will be available on OMavs.com for Sunday's contest only.
The Teams
Omaha (1-2) looks to rebound after an 0-2 weekend with a 3-1 loss at Weber State last Friday and a 3-0 loss at Utah State on Sunday. Junior Hannah Wampler scored Omaha's only goal of the weekend with her tally at Weber State, while freshman Katlyn Schochenmaier made seven saves in the contest.
Northern Illinois (0-4) has dropped four straight matches to start the year. The Huskies traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii, last weekend, falling 3-2 at Hawaii on Friday and 4-1 to Seattle on Sunday at the OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi. Against SU, Maggie Renfro scored her first career goal in the 62nd minute for the NIU's only goal of the game.
New Mexico State is 1-4 after notching its first win last Sunday, 2-1 against Incarnate Word. Jennae Cambra scored both goals for the Aggies in the first half of the game, and she was honored as the WAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Cambra has scored all four of New Mexico State's goals this season.
Series History
UNO and Northern Illinois will meet for the first time this weekend. The Mavericks and New Mexico State met once previously on Aug. 23, 2013, with NMSU taking a 3-1 decision.

Omaha lost to Utah State, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field. The Aggies took the lead in the first half in the 35th minute, then doubled their lead in the 43rd minute, with both goals from Utah State's Jessica Brooksby. In the second half, Taryn Rose added another goal in the 65th minute.
Junior Meaghan Clark started the game in goal for the Mavericks, marking her first action of the season. She allowed one goal on three shots before being replaced in the 35th minute by freshman Katlyn Schochenmaier. Schochenmaier allowed two goals and made five saves. UNO was outshot 25-7 and 10-2 in shots on goal.
