Mavericks Picked Fifth in League's Preseason Poll

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team has been picked to finish fifth in its third season of Summit League competition and final year of Division I reclassification, the conference office announced Thursday. The poll was determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
In the women's poll, Denver garnered seven first-place votes to total 49 points, edging out Fort Wayne's 41 points and one first-place vote. South Dakota State (33) finished third, and South Dakota (27) was fourth. Omaha (23) edged Oral Roberts (22) for fifth, while IUPUI (21) and Western Illinois (6) rounded out the poll in seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Mavericks begin the 2015 season on Thursday, Jan. 22, hosting Air Force at Miracle Hills Golf and Tennis Club at 8 a.m.
