Mavericks Welcome Denver for Senior Night

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team wraps-up the 2015 regular season with a home match against Denver on Friday, Oct. 30. Kickoff from Caniglia Field is set for 7 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, Omaha will be honoring eight seniors for their contributions to the program.

About Omaha
UNO is 5-10-2 overall and 2-5 in Summit League play. The Mavs are in seventh place with seven points.
Chelsi Rohloff leads the team with 15 points off seven goals and an assist this season. Courtney Neville is next on the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Lydia Holtmann has added five points with two goals and an assist.
Goalkeepers Haley Shelton and Katlyn Schochenmaier have split time in goal this season for the Mavericks. Schochenmaier has taken over the starting job this season and has appeared in 15 games with 12 starts. She is 5-8-1 on the season with a 1.55 goals-against average and a .763 save percentage. Schochenmaier has earned two Summit League Defensive Players of the Week this season. Shelton has four starts and a 0-2-1 record with a 2.97 goals-against average and a .633 save percentage.
End of an Era
Prior to the match on Friday, UNO Athletics and the women's soccer program will honor eight seniors for their contributions to the program. The eight student-athletes being recognized are: Layla Ashouri, Kyla Booker, Courtney Neville, Marquette Pick, Chelsi Rohloff, Haley Shelton, Hannah Wampler, and Morgan Westenburg.
Previewing the Pioneers
Notes:
- Denver is 3-11-1 overall and 3-3 in league play. The Pioneers currently are in fifth place with nine points and have two Summit League matches left to play.
- DU has an outside shot to make the conference tournament. The Pioneers were chosen as Summit League women's soccer preseason favorite.
- Denver returns seven starters from last season, including three all-league selections.
Players to watch:
Junior goalkeeper Cassidy Rey is the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Week after making four saves in a 1-0 win over IUPUI on Sunday.
Series vs. Denver
The two sides have met twice in program history. Each team has a win on the other's home turf. Last season, the Mavericks defeated the Pioneers in double-overtime, 3-2.
