
Mavs Open with Exhibition Match Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha women's soccer team opens its preseason schedule with a 4:00 p.m. (CT) match at Wyoming on Thursday in Laramie. The Mavericks will be eligible for Summit League and NCAA postseason competition beginning this season. Live stats will be available at OMavs.com.
The Teams
The Mavericks finished 5-12-2 overall and 3-3-2 in The Summit League in 2014. Their 11 points in conference play put them in sixth place. Chelsi Rohloff finished the season with 24 points and ten goals to lead the conference. Hannah Wampler added four goals and earned Summit League Defensive Player of the Year honors. Rohloff and Wampler earned All-Summit League First Team honors. Lydia Holtmann was placed on the all-Freshman Team.
The Cowgirls are coming off an 11-9-1 season and an 8-3 mark in the Mountain West. Eight starters from last year's team are back, including leading scorer Kaitlyn Lomsnes (10 goals, 4 assists) and Alisha Bass (5 goals, 6 assists).
Series History
Omaha and Wyoming have met twice in the regular season. The Cowgirls own a 2-0 series advantage. The two teams last met on Sept. 8, 2013 in Omaha with Wyoming earning a 2-1 victory.
