DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – The Omaha women's golf team is in eighth place following the first two rounds of the Coyote Classic hosted by South Dakota.
The Mavericks shot a 36-hole team score of 695 at Dakota Dunes Country Club, putting them last in the field. Host South Dakota and North Dakota State are tied for first at 643. Drake is third at 654.
Megan Vetrovsky led UNO on day one with rounds of 82 and 85 for a score of 167, tied for 19th overall. Katie Kesti shot matching rounds of 88 and is tied for 34th with a score of 176.
Two strokes back, Alexa Ruwe and Jordan York were tied for 39th place. Ruwe shot 85-93 and York fired a 91 and 87 to sit at 178.
Makenna Kroeker is 45th with a two-round score of 190.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
