Mavericks Set for Trio of Matches in Des Moines

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team returns to action this weekend for three matches in Des Moines, Iowa. Omaha takes on host Drake on Friday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m., followed by two matches onSaturday, Jan. 30 with North Dakota at 9:30 a.m. and Iowa State at 1 p.m.
Omaha enters the weekend with a record of 0-1, having dropped their season opener at Kansas, 7-0, on Jan. 18.
Entering the weekend, Drake holds an 0-1 record, having also been downed by Kansas on Jan. 18. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the Mavericks 7-0 in Des Moines on Jan. 31, 2015.
North Dakota brings an 0-2 record into its match with UNO. The Fighting Hawks picked up a 4-0 win in their most recent matchup with the Mavericks, April 4 in Omaha.
Iowa State owns a 1-1 mark entering the weekend, having defeated Flagler (5-2) before falling to UTEP (4-3). ISU and Omaha last squared off on Jan. 30, 2015, with the Cyclones earning a 7-0 win in Ames, Iowa.
The Mavericks return home next weekend for three matches on Feb. 5. Omaha will take on Green Bay at 9:30 a.m., Hastings College at 1 p.m., and Doane College at 5 p.m., all at Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center.
