Mavericks Tie For Eighth at Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in a tie with Drake for eighth place at the Creighton Classic on Tuesday.
The Mavericks shot a final round score of 330 to post a 36-hole team score of 657. Summit League schools took home the top three spots. Western Illinois won the event with a total of 618. South Dakota was second at 622, and North Dakota State was third at 625.
Megan Vetrovsky shot 81 in the final round to finish at 160, good for a tie for 20th. She was one stroke ahead of teammate Samantha Chong who fired an 83 in round two to close at 161. That put her in a tie for 24th.
Haley Wineman was third for the Mavericks and tied for 33rd overall at 166, a score that included a final-round tally of 82. Mandy Boyle shot 84 on Tuesday for a total of 170 that was good for 44th place.
Morgan Miller finished the scoring for the Mavericks with a total of 177 that put her in 49th. She shot a final-round score of 88.
Katelyn Strudthoff, playing as an individual, finished with a final score of 197.
The Mavericks finish the fall season at the Pirate Invitational hosted by Seton Hall on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29.
