Allbery, Erickson Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches released its 2015-16 NABC Honors Court Tuesday, and the list includes Omaha men's basketball student-athletes Kyler Erickson and Alex Allbery, who excelled in the classroom last season. It marked the first Honors Court award for both players.
Erickson, a native of Omaha, Neb., graduated with his bachelor's degrees in business administration and entrepreneurship in May 2016 alongside a 3.35 grade-point average. Allbery, also from Omaha, has compiled a 3.57 GPA with a major in business administration.
"Kyler and Alex are both dedicated student-athletes and outstanding representatives for our program on the court and in the classroom," head coach Derrin Hansen said. "Seeing our Maverick student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements is also a testament to the dedication of our Academic Success staff, led by Associate Athletic Director - Academics Lindsey Ekwerekwu. Her staff's diligence in guiding our team academically is highly influential to our success."
In order to be named to the annual Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, hold a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher and have matriculated at least one year at his current institution.
