SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team is in 13th place after the first two rounds of the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 317 and 320 for a 36-hole score of 637 on day one at Twin Oaks Country Club. UTEP leads the tournament with a total of 599, 10 strokes ahead of South Dakota State. Missouri State is third at 611.
Megan Vetrovsky paced the Mavericks on day one with scores of 74 and 76 for a total of 150, good for a tie for eighth. Samantha Chong is second for UNO and tied for 42nd in the field of 89 golfers with a total of 156 that included back-to-back rounds of 79.
Jordan York is third on the team and tied for 63rd with scores of 86 and 78 for a score of 164. Mandy Boyle is right behind in a tie for 69th with a total of 166 that included rounds of 85 and 81.
Haley Wineman rounded out the scoring for UNO with a total of 171. She shot scores of 87 and 84.
Sami Langford, playing as an individual, is in a tie for 74th with rounds of 86-83-169.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
