Mavericks Finish 13th at Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team came in 13th place at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a final round team score of 319 to finish at 956 for the 54-hole event. South Dakota State took home top honors with a score of 896. UTEP was second at 899, and Oral Roberts finished in third at 904.
Junior Megan Vetrovsky led the Mavericks in scoring for the second straight tournament with a score of 229. She shot a final-round total of 79 and finished in a tie for 20th place.
Samantha Chong carded her third straight round of 79 to post a score of 237. That put her in a tie for 50th place.
Mandy Boyle also shot 79 in the final round at the Twin Oaks Country Club to finish at 245, good for a tie for 64th place. She finished one stroke ahead of teammate Jordan York who fired 82 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 68th place.
Haley Wineman was fifth in scoring for the Mavericks at 255 after closing with a round of 84.
Sami Langford, playing as an individual, shot 81 in round three to finish at 250.
The Mavericks return to action at the Chip-N Club Invitational hosted by Nebraska on Sunday, Sept. 25 in Lincoln.
