OMAHA, Neb. – The Maverick cross country team returns to action for the first time in nearly three weeks at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill. The women's race begins at 2 p.m. on Friday.

The last time Omaha took to a cross country course was at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on September 23rd, where they finished 18th against a tough field.

Freshman Emily Johnson was the top runner for the second time this season, finishing 93rd in 24:13. Senior Kayla Sabotin claimed 109th in 25:03, and Renata Valquier Chavez crossed the line in 25:34, good for 116th. Lauren Houston placed 118th in 25:38, and Alyssa Averhoff concluded the scoring in 119th with a time of 25:48.

Two weeks after the conclusion of the Bradley Pink Classic, the Mavericks travel to Vermillion, S.D. for the Summit League Championships, which are scheduled to start on Saturday October 28th at 10 a.m.
