Mavericks Remain Eighth at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team remains in eighth place after the second day of play at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 308 in the second of three rounds, a 29-shot improvement over their first-round score. They now have a total of 645, just two strokes behind seventh-place Creighton. Kansas leads the event with a score of 600. Nebraska is second, just six strokes back, and UC Irvine is third at 611.
Megan Vetrovsky continues to pace the team in scoring with a total of 158. She shot 78 in round two and is now tied for 20th in the field of 54 golfers.
Hannah Hunke and Mandy Boyle each shot second-round scores of 77. Hunke is second on the team and is tied for 37th with a total of 162 while Boyle is at 165, good for fourth on the team and a tie for 47th.
In between, Sami Langford shot 79 on Monday for a two-day total of 163. She's tied for 42nd.
Jordan York completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a score of 76, tied for best on the team in round two. She's posted a total of 166 which is good for a tie for 49th.
Samantha Chong and Haley Wineman, playing as an individuals, shot 76 and 83 respectively. Chong is tied for 13th at 156 while Wineman sits at 170.
The final round from the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club begins at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
