Mavericks Take Eighth at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team finished eighth at the Chip-N Club Invitational on Tuesday.
Freshman Hannah Hunke led the Mavericks in scoring with a three-round total of 238 including a final-round card of 76. She finished 23rd overall while leading the Mavericks for the first time in her career.
As a team, the Mavericks posted a 54-hole score of 968 including a tally of 323 on Tuesday. Kansas won the event with a score of 903. Host Nebraska was second at 910, and UC Irvine was third at 914.
Mandy Boyle was second for UNO and tied for 40th with a score of 243 after shooting 78 in round three. She was one stroke ahead of Megan Vetrovsky who finished with an 86 for a total of 244 that put her in a tie for 44th.
Sami Langford posted a score of 248 that included a final round of 85. She was 48th overall. Jordan York completed the scoring for UNO with a score of 250. She shot 84 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 50th.
Samantha Chong, playing as an individual, shot a team-best 75 to finish at 231, good for a tie for 10th. Her score did not count toward the team tally. Haley Wineman, also playing as an individual, shot 92 on Tuesday to finish at 262.
The Mavericks finish the fall season at the Bulldog Invitational at Drake on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9-10.
