
Omaha Opens Summit League Championships in Third Place

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Omaha swimming & diving team opened the 2017 Summit League Championships Wednesday night at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., in third place with 93 team points.
Through the first three events, Omaha has notched both a third- and fourth-place finish.
The Mavericks begin the evening with a bronze medal in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of juniors Kendra Lair, Tiril Jensen, Olivia McLain and freshman Brook Landt swam to a 1:44.00 finish - just one second off silver medal pace.
Freshman Andrea Brosnahan impressed on the board in the 3-meter. The Wayzata, Minn., native placed fourth in her first championship meet, penciling in a score of 250.05.
Additionally, Omaha's 800 free relay foursome of juniors Cassie Jahn, Hilary Scheiffer, freshman Rachel Morrow and senior Morgan Stepp finished fifth with a final time of 7:33.65.
Omaha takes on day two at the Summit League Championships on Thursday, Feb. 16. Prelims are slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT. Live stats can be accessed through the "Meet Mobile" app, available through the App Store and on Androids.
