
Mavericks Take Eighth at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Omaha women's golf team moved up one spot to finish eighth at the GCU Invitational on Sunday.
The Mavericks shot a tournament-low team score of 308 in round three to finish at 954. Portland State won the 10-team event with a score of 876. Seattle was second at 892, and host Grand Canyon took third at 894.
Megan Vetrovsky was UNO's top scorer in the tournament. She shot a three-round score of 229 that included a card of 76 on Sunday. She finished in a tie for 18th.
Samantha Chong was second on the team and finished in a tie for 38th with a score of 242. She shot a final round score of 77.
Jordan York fired a career low round of 74, helping her finish third on the team and in a tie for 42nd with a score of 244.
Sami Langford shot her second straight round of 81 to finish a 250, good for 48th overall. Mandy Boyle completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a round of 88 that put her at 253 for the tournament.
Omaha returns to action at the Bama Beach Bash on Friday-Sunday, March 17-19 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
