Omaha, Neb. – Sophomore forward Elvir Ibisevic was named Summit League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and freshman defender Stevie Siy was selected Summit League Co-Defensive Player of the Week for their performances the week of Aug. 25-27, the conference office announced Monday.
Ibisevic collected his first career player of the week honor. He recorded the program's first-ever hat trick in Sunday's 5-1 win over No. 8 Virginia Tech and added an assist on the fourth goal vs. the Hokies. The Johnston, Iowa, native set single-match program records for goals (3) and points (7). His hat trick was the second-fastest to start a match (10:01) in NCAA Division I history.
Siy notched his first career defensive player of the week honor after dishing out two assists in the win over Virginia Tech, which tied a single-match program record. He was part of a defensive line that held No. 17 Virginia Teach and Grand Canyon to one goal each in a pair of victories.
Denver's Dan Mooney joined Siy as Summit League Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
