SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team finished 12th at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State on Tuesday.
The Mavericks closed the tournament with their second straight team round of 316 to finish at 927 in the 15-team tournament. Memphis won the event with a 54-hole team score of 874. Murray State was second at 888, and UTEP was third at 896.
Jordan York led the Mavericks in scoring with a three-round total of 234, a career best. She posted a score of 80 in the third round, and finished in a tie for 50th place. Megan Vetrovsky was one stroke back at 235 after carding a tournament-best round of 76 on Tuesday. She was 53rd overall.
Samantha Chong shot 76 in round three and finished with a total of 238, good for third on the team and in a tie for 58th. She was one stroke ahead of freshman Hannah Hunke who posted 84 on Tuesday to finish at 239, good for a tie for 62nd.
Sami Langford finished the scoring for UNO with a total of 240 including a final round of 84. She was tied for 65th.
Mandy Boyle, playing as an individual, shot 82 in the final round to finish at 238.
The Mavericks are back on the course on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19, at the Loyola Fall Invitational in Chicago.
