Mavericks Earn Eighth at Loyola

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Loyola Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 329 in the final round of the 54-hole event to finish at 982. Loyola won its home event with a score of 934. Butler was second, three strokes back, and Montana finished third at 944.
Jordan York led the Mavericks in scoring for the second straight event with a total score of 241. She shot a team-best 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 18th place.
Megan Vetrovsky was second for UNO and tied for 28th in the field of 67 golfers with a score of 245 that included a final round tally of 83. Hannah Hunke also carded an 83 on Tuesday to post a total of 249 putting her in a tie for 37th.
Sami Langford tied for 39th after shooting a three-round total of 250. She shot 88 in round three. Samantha Chong finished at 256 after shooting 86 in the final round. She tied for 48th place.
Mandy Boyle, playing as an individual, closed the tournament with a round of 82 for a total of 248. She tied for 34th.
The Mavericks will get a week off before competing in the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska on Sunday – Tuesday, Oct. 1-3.
