Mavericks Eighth After Day One at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is in eighth place after the first day of play at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska.
The Mavericks put up a team score of 337 over the first 18 holes at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. Kansas leads the event with a score of 294, 11 strokes ahead of UC Irvine. The host Huskers are third at 306.
Megan Vetrovsky led the Mavericks on the first day with a score of 80 that has her tied for 19th overall. Sami Langford is four strokes back at 84, good for a tie for 40th.
Hannah Hunke is third for UNO and tied for 44th overall at 85, and Mandy Boyle is fourth on the team with an 88, good for 53rd.
Jordan York is fifth and 54th overall after shooting 80 on day one.
Samantha Chong, playing as an individual, shot 80 and is tied with Vetrovsky at 19th.
The second round begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
