Xavier Gomez Invited to the 2018 MLS adidas Player Combine

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior midfielder Xavier Gomez was invited to 2018 adidas MLS Player Combine in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 13-17.
Gomez's invitation to the MLS Combine is the first time a Maverick has been selected to participate in the scouting opportunity held each year before the MLS SuperDraft.
The Chicago, Ill., native will be part of a group of 70 NCAA standouts at the combine. Head coaches from all 23 MLS clubs will be on hand during the event at Orlando City Stadium.
A three-year starter, Gomez was a crucial player in Omaha's run to the 2017 Summit League Postseason Tournament title and the programs first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Gomez was named First Team All-Summit League after providing a team-high eight assists and adding five goals. He ended the year ranked 25th in the country and led the Summit League in assists. The senior ranked in the top 10 in the league in points (18), goals (5) shots (36) and assists (8).
The players have been split up into four teams (Nemeziz, Predator, X and Tango) and each team will play three matches. The matchdays start on Saturday with the schedule calling for games every other day. All matches will be played at Orlando City Stadium and streamed on MLSsoccer.com.
