Mavericks Ready For Bradley Pink Classic

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha cross country team returns to action on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill.
The Mavericks will compete in the women's 6K red race beginning at 3:15 p.m. from the Newman Golf Course. The race will feature 40 Division I schools including 13 that are regionally ranked.
Omaha last raced in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame on Sept. 28, finishing 15th in the women's gold division.
For the third straight meet, sophomore Emily Johnson led the team in scoring, finishing 12th overall in the field of 139 runners with a 5K time of 17:51.77. In addition to being a PR, it also was Omaha's second fastest 5K time in school history.
Omaha's top-four runners all achieved personal bests in the meet. Anita Jenkins finished 69th overall with a time of 19:08.33. Heidi Hall was 94th in a time of 19:23.85, and Lauren Houston came in 99th in a time of 19:29.29.
Annie Catania completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a time of 19:51.61, good for 111th place.
This will be UNO's last meet before hosting the Summit League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Miracle Hill Golf Course in Omaha.
