Mavericks Move Up at Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Omaha women's golf team moved up to 38th place after the second round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Monday.
The Mavericks shot a team round of 306, a 21-shot improvement over their first round score, to sit at 633 for the 54-hole tournament. UNO began the day in 41st place in the massive 43-team event.
Host College of Charleston continues to lead the event with a 36-hole score of 567. Murray State is one stroke back at 578, and Jacksonville is third at 579.
Jordan York leads the team in scoring and posted its second-best round of the day at 75. She now sits at 155 for the tournament, good for a tie for 123rd in the field of 218 golfers.
Sami Langford, who led the team on day one, shot 81 in the second round and is second on the team overall with a total of 158. That puts her in a tie for 152nd. Mandy Boyle is third on the team and tied for 161st with a total of 159 that includes a round of 73 on Monday, a team best.
Megan Vetrovsky sits fourth on the team and in a tie for 171st overall after shooting 77 in round two to put her at 161 for the event. Hannah Hunke rounded out the scoring for UNO at 172 including a second-round score of 85.
The final round of UNO's spring season opening tournament begins at 7:45 a.m. CT from the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
