Omaha to Compete at South Dakota State Classic

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha track & field team looks to keep up its momentum at the South Dakota State Classic this weekend. Day one begins on Friday at 2 p.m. and day two begins at Noon.
Omaha is coming off an impressive Dakota Realty Alumni Meet that included a school record and other all-time bests.
Anna Edet broke Omaha's record in the weight throw with a mark of 56 feet 5.75 inches (17.21 meters), finishing third in the event. She followed it up with a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 43 feet 1.75 inches (13.15 meters), which was eighth all-time in Omaha history.Â
Also competing in the weight throw, Megan Adams finished fifth with a throw of 50 feet 2.75 inches (15.31 meters), good for sixth all-time in UNO history. Maddy Partridge finished eighth with a mark 48 feet 10 inches (14.88 meters), which was the 10th-best mark in school history and a personal best.
Sasha Quattlebaum set a personal best and tallied the 10th-best time in UNO history in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.02 seconds. She also set a personal record in the triple jump with a mark of 37 feet 2.25 inches (11.33 meters), good for fourth.
In the mile, Renata Valqiuer Chavez, Anita Jenkins, and Kayla Sabotin were sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively, while Willa Koenig placed 10th. Valquier Chavez finished in a season-best 5:21.34. Jenkins also set a season best with a time of 5:21.48. Sabotin crossed the line in 5:23.45, which was also a season best for the senior. Koenig finished in 5:24.73.
Omaha caps the regular season on Friday, Feb. 16 at the Nebraska Tune-Up at Noon in Lincoln, Neb., marking its final meet before the Summit League Championships.
