Omaha Secures No. 2 Seed for Summit League Tennis Championship

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team will be the No. 2 seed for the 2018 Summit League Tennis Championship, April 27-28, in Denver, Colo., the league office announced Friday.
The Mavericks (13-10, 4-1) open play against No. 3 seed South Dakota (9-11, 3-2) in Friday's semifinals at 2 p.m. CT. Top-seeded Denver (17-4, 4-0) meets No. 4 seed Western Illinois (9-7, 2-2) at 11 a.m. CT.
The April 28 championship match is set for 11 a.m. CT, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament as an automatic qualifier.
The weekend marks Omaha's first Summit League Championships appearance in program history. The Mavericks finished the regular season with their first winning record in the seven-year Division I era.
