Mavericks 10th After First Round at UMKC

RAYMORE, Mo. - The Omaha women's golf team is in 10th place after the first round of the Kansas City Intercollegiate hosted by UMKC on Monday.
The Mavericks shot a team round of 343 over the first 18 holes of the weather-shortened 36-hole tournament. IUPUI leads the event with a score of 299. North Dakota State and South Dakota State are tied for second at 302.
Megan Vetrovsky and Mandy Boyle tied for the team scoring lead with matching rounds of 84, putting them in a tie for 41st in the field of 61 golfers.
Sami Langford is third on the team and 51st overall after shooting a score of 86. That puts her three strokes ahead of teammates Jordan York and Samantha Chong who both shot 89 in round one and are tied for 54th.
Hannah Hunke, playing as an individual, is in a tie with Vetrovsky and Boyle after posting her own card of 84.
The final round begins on Tuesday at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the Creekmoor Golf Club.
