Women's Tennis Tallies ITA All-Academic Recognition

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its annual academic awards, with the Omaha women's tennis team earning ITA All-Academic Team honors.
Six players recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2017-18.
The Mavericks compiled a 3.64 cumulative GPA in the 2017-18 academic year for ITA All-Academic Team recognition. ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners Emily Behling, Savanna Crowell, Michelle Lo, Natalie Lorentz, Rylee Tucker and Janelle Wilson.
Omaha women's tennis also tied for the most ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners in The Summit League, while the men's and women's programs combined were a league best.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, a player must meet three criteria. One, the student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 on the 4.00 scale for the current academic year and must have been enrolled at the present school for at least two semesters.
