Mavericks Take Eighth at Loyola

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Loyola Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks closed with a team round of 321 for a 54-hole total of 964 at the Flossmoor Country Club. South Dakota took home the tournament title with a score of 912. Drake and host Loyola tied for second at 940.
Jordan York led the Mavericks in scoring for the third straight tournament, shooting 80 on Tuesday to finish at 236 for the event. She finished in a tie for 10th.
Hannah Hunke tied for 18th overall with a score of 239. She closed the tournament with a round of 80 as well. Zora Gittens also carded an 80 in round three to finish at 243, good for a tie for 30th.
Mandy Boyle was fourth on the team and tied for 37th overall with a score of 246 that included a final round of 81. Samantha Chong rounded out the scoring for the Mavericks with a score of 252. She shot 85 in round three and tied for 48th in the field of 72 golfers.
Sami Langford, playing as an individual, fired a final-round score of 80 to finish at 243, tying her with Gittens for 30th.
The Mavericks are off until Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30, when they take part in the Diane Thomason Invitational at Iowa.
