OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's soccer head coach Tim Walters announced the addition of transfer Avery Ripple to the team on Friday.
A native of Papillion, Neb., Ripple comes to UNO after spending the 2018 fall semester at the University of Kansas. She took a redshirt last fall with the Jayhawks and will have four years of eligibility with the Mavericks.
Before joining the college ranks, the Papillion-LaVista South graduate was a member of Elite Girls Academy's highly successful run over the last four years. She helped the club to back-to-back state titles in 2016 and 2015 as well as a runner-up state finish in 2014. Ripple led the Elites to qualification runs to regionals in both 2015 and 2016.
"I'm happy to welcome a quality player like Avery back to Omaha," said Walters. "She is a gritty defender who trains very well and has a professional mentality. Avery was highly recruited as a club player and will be a positive addition to our team culture."
