AURORA, Ore. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in a tie for eighth place the Rose City Collegiate hosted by Portland State on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a final round tally of 316 to conclude the tournament at 929, tying them with Montana State. CSU Fullerton took the title with a score of 886. Portland State was second at 892, and Seattle was third at 896.
Samantha Chong led the team in scoring and had UNO's best final round with a score of 75, three over par. She tied for 19th in the field of 70 golfers with a total of 228.
Mandi Granato was second on the team with a total of 233. She closed with a final round score of 76 and finished in a tie for 30th.
Hannah Hunke and Zora Gittens tied for third on the team with matching scores of 234, good for a tie for 33rd. Hunke shot 83 in round three while Gittens carded an 82.
Cassidy Ulrich finished the scoring for the Mavericks with a final score of 275.
The Mavericks are back in Omaha next week to play in the Creighton Classic at Oak Hills Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8. It will be their final tournament of the fall season.
