Mavericks Fifth After Day One at Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team sits in fifth place after the first round of the Creighton Classic at Oak Hills Country Club.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 328 after the first 18-holes of the 36-hole event. Northern Iowa leads the field with a score of 303, three shots clear of the host Bluejays. Drake is third at 322.
Freshman Mandi Granato leads the Mavericks in scoring and is tied for ninth overall with a round of 79.
Hannah Hunke is two strokes behind with an 81 and sits in a tie for 16th place. She's two clear of teammate Zora Gittens who shot 83 and is in a tie for 21st.
Samantha Chong posted a round of 85 to put her 26th while Izzi Puk rounded out the team scoring with an opening round of 91 to put her in a tie for 32nd.
Sami Langford, play as an individual in her first tournament of the season, shot 82 to put her in a tie for 18th. Freshman Maddy Boudreau, in her first collegiate event, carded a 90, and Cassidy Ulrich shot 103.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
