GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Omaha women's soccer team held a one-goal lead after the first half, but couldn't hold on as the Mavericks fell 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D.

The Mavericks fall to 5-11-1 (2-5-0) while the Fightin Hawks move to 10-6-1 (4-3-0) on the season.

How It Happened

The Mavericks grabbed a 1-0 lead when Sydney Randall's attempt slipped through the keeper's hands and fell into the back of the net for the first goal in the 15^th minute off the assist by Amanda Rapaduski.
North Dakota tied the match at one in the 59^th minute when Ashley Ebeling placed the ball into the top corner of the goal.
The Fighting Hawks took a 2-1 lead when Megan Wright scored in the top far corner in the 62^nd minute.
UND's Mara Yapello scored in the 71^st minute and Olivia Knox added a goal in the 73^rd minute to stretch the lead to 4-1.
Omaha cut into the deficit when Laurin Mertz capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper to score her second goal of the season in the 76^th minute.
North Dakota scored its final goal in the 84^th minute when Mimi Eiden collected the loose ball in the box and placed it into the back of the net.
