Omaha Soccer Programs Earn Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Â The Omaha men's and women's soccer programs earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their performance in the classroom in 2018-19, the United Soccer Coaches' Association announced on Thursday.
A total of 990 soccer teams (344 men, 646 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year.
Of that total, 255 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including Omaha.
The men's program combined for a 3.21 grade point average in 2018-19 to earn the honor for the third straight season and seventh year overall.
The women's program also earned the award for the third straight season after posting a combined 3.59 grade point average. The 2018-19 honor marks the 16th time in program history the Mavericks have been recognized.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
