The Basics
The Omaha men's basketball team pays a visit to Colorado State this Wednesday, Nov. 13. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.

Scouting the Colorado State Rams
Colorado State is 1-1 (0-0 Mountain West) on the season after an 89-55 loss at No. 4 Duke on Saturday. Freshmen David Roddy and Isaiah Stevens each finished with a team-high 12 points, while Nico Carvacho had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Kris Martin averages 13.5 points to lead the Rams, and Carvacho has 10.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. CSU was picked ninth in the Mountain West Preseason Poll last month.
Head coach Niko Medved has compiled a record of 13-21 in two seasons at Colorado State and has a 92-109 career mark over seven years.

Wednesday marks the 11th meeting between Omaha and Colorado State, and the Rams lead the series 8-2. Only one meeting has come during the Mavericks' Division I era -- on Jan. 7, 2012, when CSU won 87-63 in Fort Collins.

Wednesday's meeting at Colorado State marks the eighth meeting of Omaha's Division I era against Mountain West competition. All-time, Omaha is 2-5 against members of the conference.

Omaha led nearly the entire way Monday night, soundly defeating Bethune-Cookman 90-61 in front of 2,112 fans at Baxter Arena. JT Gibson's career-best scoring effort came with 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting alongside six rebounds, four assists and two steals. He led a contingent of five Maverick scorers in double figures.
Zach Thornhill hit 8-of-12 from the floor for a career-high 19 points and added two rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. Matt Pile, who hit 6-of-8, finished with 15 points, seven boards, two assists, one steal and four blocks. Wanjang Tut matched Pile on the glass with seven rebounds and added 13 points, and Darrius Hughes was a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor for a season-high 11 points. He added five rebounds, an assist and a steal.
After shooting 68% in the first half, Omaha finished the game at 59% (35-of-59) as a team while limiting BCU to 34% (21-of-61). The Mavericks outrebounded the Wildcats 45-28 and had a 6-2 advantage in blocked shots. Omaha also outscored BCU 38-18 in the paint.
Chasing 1,000
JT Gibson is on track to become the 40th 1,000-point scorer in program history during his senior season. After Monday night's 26-point outburst, Gibson has 932 points since coming to Omaha in 2015-16, and he needs 68 to join the exclusive club.
The most recent Maverick to hit the scoring milestone was Gibson's former teammate Zach Jackson, who reached 1,000 on Nov. 6, 2018 at Minnesota.
