Mavericks Ready For Midwest Regionals

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha cross country team heads south this week to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Friday, Nov. 15.
The women's 6K race, hosted by Oklahoma State, begins at 10:30 a.m. from OSU's cross country course in Stillwater, Okla.
The Mavericks are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Summit League Championship in Fargo, N.D. on Nov. 2. Junior Emily Johnson finished third overall and earned First Team All-Summit accolades with a time of 21:19.2 over the 6K course at the Rose Creek Golf Course.
It was Omaha's best individual finish in the championship since 2012 when Amanda Vorthmann also finished third. For Johnson, it was her second straight All-Summit recognition.
Heidi Hall ran second for the Mavericks and finished 23rd overall with a time of 22:30.7, a lifetime best.
Anita Jenkins finished 35th overall with a time of 23:18.0, and Ivanna Uribe was four spots back with a time of 23:38.1.
Joanna Topham finished the scoring for the Mavericks, finishing 44th with a time of 24:04.5.
The Mavericks will be trying to qualify for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
