Washington State is 2-1 (0-0 Pac-12) on the season after a 72-61 win over Idaho State on Sunday. CJ Elleby scored a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds and seven steals to lead the Cougars, while Isaac Bonton (15) and Jeff Pollard (11) also scored in double figures.
Elleby, who was a first-team Preseason All-Pac-12 pick, averages a team-leading 20.0 points per game. WSU was picked 11th in the Pac-12 Preseason Poll released last month.
Head coach Kyle Smith has a record of 2-1 in his first season at WSU and a 166-123 career mark over 10 years.

Omaha continued its three-game road swing at Dayton Tuesday night, falling 93-68 at UD Arena. JT Gibson posted a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting with three 3-pointers, adding four rebounds, three assists and three steals
KJ Robinson scored in double figures for the first time this season with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Matt Pile finished with eight points and collected a game-high eight rebounds.
Dayton shot 57.8% (37-of-64) from the floor, while Omaha finished at 45.8% (27-of-59). The Flyers had a 50-30 advantage in the paint and a 32-31 edge on the glass.
