The Basics
The Omaha men's basketball team begins a four-game road stretch this Sunday, Dec. 1, visiting Saint Mary's. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at McKeon Pavilion in Moraga, Calif.

Scouting the Saint Mary's Gaels
Saint Mary's is 7-1 (0-0 WCC) on the season after an 81-73 win over No. 15 Utah State Friday night. Jordan Ford led the Gaels with a 27-point output on five 3-pointers, while Malik Fitts (21) and Matthias Tass (15) also scored in double figures.
Leading scorer Ford (21.5 ppg) and Fitts (14.1 ppg) were both Preseason All-WCC picks. Saint Mary's was picked second in the WCC Preseason Poll released last month.
The Gaels shoot at a 45.5% clip from three, which ranks second nationally, and 50.7% from the field, which is 15th.
Head coach Randy Bennett has a career record of 420-175 in his 19th season at Saint Mary's.

Omaha hung tough Tuesday night for its third straight win, defeating Loyola (Md.) 70-65 at Baxter Arena to close the Cayman Islands Classic Mainland Tournament at Omaha. JT Gibson passed the 1,000 career points milestone, becoming the 40th 1,000-point scorer in school history. The senior finished with 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist for the night.
Matt Pile registered his second straight double-double with team highs of 14 points and 13 rebounds. He hit 6-of-10 from the floor and added four assists.
Wanjang Tut had another 12 points and six boards, and Ayo Akinwole and KJ Robinson added 11 points apiece. Akinwole also dished out a game-high five assists.
Omaha shot 47.3% (26-of-55) to Loyola's 46.2% (24-of-52) and had a 36-26 rebounding advantage. The Mavericks outscored Loyola 34-28 in the paint, 19-12 off turnovers, 9-3 on second-chance attempts and 15-7 on the fast break.
