The Basics
The Omaha men's basketball team begins the first half of a trip to the desert Sunday afternoon, visiting Northern Arizona. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. CT at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Northern Arizona is 3-2 (0-0 Big Sky) on the season after an 85-66 setback to UC Davis Wednesday night, which snapped the Lumberjacks' three-game win streak. Luke Avdalovic (17), Cameron Shelton (11) and Bernie Andre (10) all scored in double figures, and Brooks DeBisschop had eight points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Avdalovic (15.6 ppg) and Shelton (13.0) both average in double figures. Northern Arizona was picked eighth in the Big Sky preseason coaches' and media polls.
Interim head coach Shane Burcar has a career record of 3-2 his first season at NAU.
All-Time Against Northern Arizona
Sunday marks the third meeting all-time against Northern Arizona, which holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series with Omaha. The two teams last met on Nov. 14, 2018, with the Lumberjacks picking up 76-66 win at Baxter Arena.

Sunday's meeting with Northern Arizona marks the 10th meeting of Omaha's Division I era against Big Sky competition. Omaha is 7-2 against members of the conference since 2011-12.

Omaha saw a 13-point lead slip away Tuesday night, falling 78-73 to Arkansas State at First National Bank Arena.
JT Gibson led the Mavericks with 14 points and four assists. Zach Thornhill added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Ayo Akinwole had another 11 points with five boards. KJ Robinson rounded it out with 10 points, which marked his sixth straight game in double figures. Matt Pile grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and chipped in eight points.
Omaha shot 47.3% (26-of-55) from the field and 76.2% (16-of-21) at the stripe. Arkansas State came in at 45.5% (25-of-55) from the floor and was 84.6% (22-of-26) at the line, all in the second half. The Mavericks outrebounded ASU, 34-29.
