OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is back on the tee at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic hosted by College of Charleston beginning Sunday, Feb. 24.

The 54-hole tournament runs through Tuesday with 18 holes each day at two different courses at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The Mavericks are one of 48 teams in the massive field. Play begins each day at 7:45 a.m. CT.

Last year, the Mavericks tied for 37th in the field of 43 teams at the event.

The Mavericks opened the spring season two weeks ago at the Ball State Sunshine Invitational in Florida. UNO played head-to-head with three different teams in the match play event. The Mavericks finished 1-1-1, losing to James Madison, tying Florida Atlantic and then beating St. Leo.

Over the three rounds, freshman Zora Gittens, junior Samantha Chong and senior Mandy Boyle all earned two match wins.

Following play in South Carolina, the Mavericks will return to action on Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12 at the UT Rio Grande Valley Invitational in McAllen, Texas.
