KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Omaha women's golf team sits in 34th place in a field of 48 teams after two rounds of the Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 315 in the middle round of the 54-hole event, giving them a total of 624. North Florida moved into the lead with a team score of 577. Coastal Carolina is second at 581, and Delaware and host College of Charleston are tied for third at 585.
Senior Mandy Boyle paced the Mavericks for the second straight round, shooting a three-over-par round of 75 to put her at 150 for the tournament, good for a tie for 53rd in the field of 254 golfers.
A trio of her teammates, Sami Langford, Samantha Chong and Jordan York, all shot 81 on day two. Langford is now at 158, good for a tie for 152nd; Chong is one stroke back, putting her in a tie for 163rd; and York sits at 160, tying her for 171st.
Zora Gittens rounded out the scoring for UNO with a middle round of 78. She now sits at 161 for the event, putting her in a tie for 179th.
The final round begins at 7:45 a.m. CT on Tuesday from the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
