Mavericks Tie For 31st on Kiawah Island

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Omaha women's golf team shot its best team round of the tournament to finish in a tie for 31st at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Tuesday.
The Mavericks carded a score of 300 in the final round of the 54-hole event to finish at 924. That tied them with Summit League neighbor South Dakota. Coastal Carolina and North Florida tied for first in the 48-team tournament with scores of 865. Tulsa was third at 872.
Mandy Boyle led the Mavericks in scoring for the tournament. She closed with a round of 78 to put her at 228 for the event, good for a tie for 99th in the field of 254 golfers. It's the first time she's led the team in scoring this season.
Samantha Chong was second on the team and tied for 121st overall with a final total of 231. She had Omaha's low round of the day and the tournament with an even-par score of 72.
Sami Langford closed with a round of 75, three over par, to finish with a three-round total of 233. She finished in a tie for 136th.
Jordan York was fourth on the team and tied for 156th overall with a score of 236 that included a third-round card of 76. Zora Gittens finished the scoring for UNO with a final round of 77 that put her at 238 for the tournament, good for a tie for 174th.
The Mavericks will play next on March 11-12 at the UT Rio Grande Valley Invitational in McAllen, Texas.
