Purdue Fort Wayne has a record of 9-12 (2-4 Summit League) after an 83-60 loss at South Dakota Thursday night -- its third straight defeat. Deonte Billups had a game-high 19 points, and Jarred Godfrey added 11 points. Brian Patrick and Dylan Carl each grabbed seven rebounds to lead all players.
Godfrey (15.8 ppg) and Patrick (13.3 ppg) have both averaged double-figure scoring for the Mastodons. Purdue Fort Wayne was picked sixth in the Summit League's preseason poll, and Matt Holba was a second-team Preseason All-Summit selection.

Omaha erased a 16-point second-half deficit Thursday night, defeating Western Illinois 87-82 in an overtime thriller at Baxter Arena. KJ Robinson was the Mavericks' leading scorer for the fourth straight game, finishing with a season-high-tying 24 points with five 3-pointers -- including 21 points after halftime. The senior added three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 42 minutes of work.
Matt Pile registered his seventh double-double of the year with 16 points and 11 rebounds, hitting a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor and 8-of-11 at the line.
JT Gibson (13), Marlon Ruffin (12) and Ayo Akinwole (11) also scored in double figures. Ruffin added four rebounds, two assists and a steal and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the stripe.
Omaha shot 46.8% (29-of-62) to WIU's 45.5% (30-of-66). The Mavericks came in at 88.0% (22-of-25) from the line. WIU had a 38-35 rebounding advantage and outscored Omaha 16-8 off turnovers.
