Gallegos Selected To Preseason Athletes To Watch List

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League office announced the preseason women's tennis poll Wednesday morning, as the Mavericks were selected fifth.
Newcomer Madison Gallegos was selected to The Summit League Women's Tennis Preseason Athletes to Watch List. As a junior transfer from Florida Gulf Coast, Gallegos earned All-ASUN in doubles and All-ASUN Second Team honors last spring. She notched six wins at No. 3 singles, while going undefeated at No. 4 and No. 5. She also clinched singles wins against Florida Atlantic and Minnesota. The win over Minnesota marked the first victory over a Big Ten school in program history.
The Mavericks open the 2020 spring campaign Saturday, Jan. 25, against Northern Iowa. Summit League play begins March 28 against Western Illinois at Koch Tennis Center.
