Round One Results

ELKHORN, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is halfway through its own Maverick Invitational at The Creek after play on Monday.

The 54-hole tournament featured 27 holes on day one, leaving play suspended following the first nine holes of round one. The Mavericks shot a team score of 317 in the first round, putting them seven strokes back of North Dakota State, the only other team in the event.

Mandi Granato had the overall lead after round one with an even-par score of 72. She closed the first nine of round two with a score of 40, putting her atop the field of 13 golfers.

Hannah Hunke is second on the team and tied for second overall. She shot a round of 78 to open and then was just one over par at 37 through the opening nine of round two.

Jinna Boonbumroongsuk is ninth overall and third in team scoring. She carded a score of 81 in the first round and shot 42 after the first nine of round two. Zora Gittens is 12th overall, shooting 86 in the opening round and posting a score of 45 going out in the second.

Izzi Puk completed the scoring for the Mavericks shooting 93 to open and then 42 through the first half of round two.

Mika Miyata, playing as an individual, was eighth overall. She shot 79 in the first round and posted a score of 42 to start round two.

The second round will conclude when play resumes at The Club at Indian Creek on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The third round will follow immediately thereafter.
